Dhruv Rathee’s Cryptic Post Day After Swati Maliwal Blames

Popular YouTuber Dhruv Rathee has firmly rejected what he calls “fake allegations” intended to silence him. This comes in the wake of accusations from AAP MP Swati Maliwal, who claims she has been receiving rape and death threats following a video Rathee uploaded.

The contentious video discusses the alleged assault on Maliwal by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s aide, Bibhav Kumar. In a cryptic post on social media platform X, Rathee made a veiled reference to Maliwal without mentioning her name, suggesting that those who perpetrate wrongdoings are now pretending to be victims.

On his X handle, he wrote, “Fake allegations against me, daily death threats, dehumanising insults, coordinated campaigns to defame me… I am used to it by now. The irony is that perpetrators are pretending to be victims. Everyone knows who is behind all this. They want to silence me,”

“But that’s not going to happen. If you silence 1 Dhruv Rathee, 1000 new ones will rise up,” he further said.

On Sunday, AAP MP Swati Maliwal alleged she was receiving “rape and death threats” amidst what she described as a “character assassination” campaign supposedly led by AAP leaders. According to Maliwal, the situation escalated after a YouTuber posted a one-sided video against her.

Maliwal, the former Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief, claimed she attempted to contact the YouTuber to present her side of the story, but her calls and messages were ignored. In a post on X, she expressed her dismay, stating, “It is shameful that people like him, who claim to be independent journalists, could act like other AAP spokespersons and victim-shame me to the extent that I am now facing extreme abuses and threats.”

Maliwal listed several points that she felt were neglected in Dhruv Ratheeā€™s 2.5-minute video: Maliwal accused the party leadership of trying to intimidate her into withdrawing her complaint. She also expressed disappointment with Dhruv Rathee, saying that despite her efforts to contact him and share her side of the story, he ignored her calls and messages.

She said Rathee failed to mention why the AAP took a U-turn after accepting that the incident happened; the ā MLC report that reveals injuries due to the assault selected part of the video was released, and then the phone of the accused was formatted; the accused was arrested from the crime scene (CM house).
