Police tracked the kidnappers of three Rajasthan brothers when he called the victims’ father seeking a ransom of 8 lakhs

New Delhi: Three brothers were kidnapped from Rajasthan on October 15. The bodies of two were recovered from a forest in Delhi’s Mehrauli area today. The third one was lucky enough to make an escape. Police have arrested two people who have admitted to kidnapping the three children for ransom and later killing two of them.

As per the police, three brothers — 13-year-old Aman, eight-year-old Vipin, and six-year-old Shiva were kidnapped from Rajasthan’s Alwar. Then kidnappers called the children’s father, Gyan Singh, and asked for a ransom. Gyan Singh is a vegetable vendor in Rajasthan. The kidnappers asked for a ransom of 8 Lakhs.

Police tracked the kidnappers from that call. Then police arrested the two accused. The two accused have said they had kidnapped the children from Rajasthan, brought them to Delhi, murdered them, and buried their bodies in the forest at Mehrauli.

After learning about this, a joint operation was launched by Delhi and Rajasthan police. Bodies of Aman and Vipin were recovered from the forest.

After the assailants left, Shiva came out of the forest. They had left him at the murder site, believing him to be dead too.  Police said Shiva could barely mention his name and that of his father’s, after being rescued. He was sent to a children’s home for rehabilitation in Lajpatnagar.

Delhi Police said a boy was found near Ahinsa Sthal Picket on Sunday morning and was later identified as Shiva. “He was taken to Mehrauli police station. He could not disclose anything except his and his father’s names. He was later identified as the same Shiva,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Delhi South) Chandhan Chowdhary said.

The accused had killed the victims through strangulation, said police. However, the exact details about how the victims were killed will be clear after the post-mortem report is out.

The accused hail from Bihar. They were living near the victims’ family in Bhiwadi, Alwar. Preliminary investigation suggests that they were drug addicts. One of them ran a small shop while the other worked in a factory, a police official added.
