โ€œThe land was allotted to Ritesh Properties and Industries Limited, one of the companies owned by Arora,โ€ Indian Express quoted sources in ED.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday raided the residence of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora on Chandigarh Road in Ludhiana, reported Indian Express.

Reports suggest the raid at Aroraโ€™s residence at Hampton Homes colony was in connection with a chunk of land that was allotted to him by the Punjab government some years ago. โ€œThe land was allotted for an industrial project, but the agreement was breached, and the land was used.

โ€œThe land was allotted to Ritesh Properties and Industries Limited, one of the companies owned by Arora,โ€ Indian Express quoted sources in ED.

In his first reaction regarding the searches, Arora said: โ€œI am a law abiding citizen, am not sure about the reason for search operation, will cooperate fully with agencies and make sure all their queries are answered.โ€

Responding to the raids, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal said: โ€œGod is with the party. There is no need to be scaredโ€ฆ no wrong has been done,โ€ Kejriwal said.

ED Arrests 2 More In Mahadev Betting App Case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has made two more arrests in a significant development concerning the Mahadev betting app case. Deepening its investigation into alleged money laundering and illicit activities associated with the app.

Suraj Chokhani, Managing Director of Ability Games Ltd Company, and Girish Talreja were identified as suspected key players. They were placed under one-day judicial custody by the Raipur Court.

These recent arrests come after Nitish Diwanโ€™s apprehension in the same money laundering case. Representing the ED, Saurabh Pandey disclosed that Chokhani and Talrejaโ€™s statements were recorded to corroborate Diwanโ€™s claims. However, their statements reportedly contradicted the evidence held by the ED, prompting their arrest.

Chokhani, closely associated with Tibrewal, a hawala operator, is linked to the Mahadev app through an ID called Lotus 365. Talreja, alongside Saurabh Chandrakhar, managed this ID, engaging in betting activities. Pandey emphasized Chokhaniโ€™s close ties to Tibrewal, who has connections with individuals involved in the Mahadev app betting case.

The ED recently conducted raids at over 15 locations nationwide as part of its ongoing money laundering probe into the Mahadev online betting and gaming app case.

Earlier, the agency had arrested Asim Das, Bheem Singh Yadav, Chandra Bhushan Verma, Anil Kumar Agrawal, Sunil Dammani, and Satish Chandrakar. The ED alleged that the appโ€™s illicit funds were utilized to bribe politicians and bureaucrats.

Moreover, numerous celebrities and Bollywood actors have been summoned for questioning regarding their links to the online betting platform and associated payment methods. The agency reiterated that funds generated unlawfully by the app were used for corrupt practices.

The EDโ€™s intensified efforts underscore its commitment to unravelling the complexities of the Mahadev betting app case. The ongoing investigation reflects the agencyโ€™s determination to combat financial wrongdoing within the digital gaming and betting sphere.
