Maharashtra: 8 Dead After Passengers Who Jump Off From Pushpak Express, Run Over By Other Train

Pushpak Express

In a tragic incident, at least eight people have been reportedly killed after passengers of the Pushpak Express were struck by the Karnataka Express on Wednesday in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district.

The passengers had stepped outside their coaches, fearing a fire onboard. The train accident occurred near the Paranda railway station.

Reports suggest the tragedy occurred  when passengers aboard the Pushpak Express, fearing a potential fire after smoke emanated from the train’s wheels, hastily jumped onto the tracks in an attempt to escape.

At that moment, the Bengaluru Express, travelling in the opposite direction, collided with the passengers who had jumped onto the tracks.
