Mamata Banerjee announces cabinet reshuffle, seven new districts will be carved out in the state very soon.

Mumbai: TMC being hit by the recent raids on her former minister and close confidante Partha Chatterjee, West Bengal Prime Minister Mamata Banerjee today announced that there will be a cabinet reshuffle in the state on Wednesday with four to five new faces, adding that the ministers would be sworn on Wednesday evening.

After the cabinet meeting, Banerjee said, โ€œWe lost ministers Subrata Mukherjee, Sadhan Pande. Partha is in jail. They had important departments like Panchayat, Industry, Consumer Affairs, and many others. I canโ€™t take the pressure alone anymore. Thatโ€™s why I have to include some new faces in the cabinet. Hence we will have a small oath-taking ceremony the day after tomorrow.โ€

Banerjee also announced that seven new districts will soon be incorporated into the state. The state currently has 23 districts. The 7 new districts include: Sunderban, Ichhemati, Ranaghat, Bishnupur, Jangipur, Behrampur and another district will be called Basirhat.

Mamata Banerjeeโ€™s government was heavily criticized after the investigation agency raid revealed piles of money belonging to multiple properties belonging to Chaterjeeโ€™s 30-year-old aide. However, days after heaps of cash and kilos of gold were seized by the ED from Arpita Mukherjeeโ€™s homes in Kolkata, the TMC minister Partha Chatterjee claimed the money did not belong to him. He said โ€œit was a conspiracy to frame him.โ€

The fire erupted at New Life Multi-speciality Hospital near Damoh Naka area of Jabalpur in the afternoon. Five patients and three hospital staff lost their lives due to the flames.

Bhopal:  A minimum of  Eight people were killed in a massive fire that broke out at a private hospital in Madhya Pradeshโ€™s Jabalpur on Monday. Visuals from the scene showed huge plumes of smoke billowing from the building.

The fire erupted at New Life Multi-speciality Hospital near Damoh Naka area of Jabalpur in the afternoon. Five patients and three hospital staff lost their lives due to the flames. At least 12 people are also injured, according to the police.

โ€œIt was a massive fire, and our teams rescued all the people trapped inside the hospital,โ€ Akhilesh Gaur, Jabalpurโ€™s Chief Superintendent of police informed. He further added that the fire has been put out.

According to the police, a short circuit is the cause of the fire.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced a compensation of โ‚น 5 lakhs each for the families of those who lost their lives in the fire and 50,000 for those seriously injured.

โ€œIn this hour of grief, the bereaved family should not consider themselves alone, I and the entire Madhya Pradesh are with the family.โ€ The CM said.

โ€œThe state government will provide an aide of  Rs. 5 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased and Rs. 50 thousand to the seriously injured. The government will also bear the cost of complete treatment of the injured.โ€The tweet read.
