The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has proposed January 30 as the date for holding the mayoral polls in the national capital, reported India Today.
A report with this proposal was sent to Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Tuesday evening.MCDâs first house meeting was held on January 6 and ended without the election of the mayor, deputy mayor, and standing committee members after clashes erupted between AAP and BJP councilors.

They clashed over the presiding officer’s decision to administer the oath to the 10 aldermen first. The oathtaking was postponed and the meeting was disrupted as the AAP councilors stood on the tables, including those of the presiding officer.
