Rajnath Singh At Bhuj Airbase: ‘Pakistan Will Try To Rebuild Terror’

Rajnath Singh At Bhuj

He called on the IMF to reconsider what could happen by its having sent a loan of 1.1 billion US dollars to Pakistan

India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh spoke at the Bhuj airbase in Gujarat about Pakistan. He said that Pakistan is trying to continue with rebuilding terrorist activity, which India destroyed.

He called on the IMF to reconsider what could happen by its having sent a loan of 1.1 billion US dollars to Pakistan.

Singh said, “I believe Pakistan will spend a large portion of the funds received from the International Monetary Fund on terror infrastructure in its country.”

He then said, “India wants the IMF to rethink funding to Pakistan.”

He then praised India’s armed forces for successfully undertaking ‘Operation Sindoor’.

“It would not be incorrect for me to say that the duration people take to have breakfast, you used that duration to deal with enemies,” he said.

“You dropped missiles by going to the land of enemies. Its echo did not remain restricted just to the borders of India, the entire world heard it. That echo wasn’t just of missiles but also of your valour and the bravery of jawans of the Indian Armed Forces,” he added.

His visit to Bhuj airbase comes just a day after he visited Jammu and Kashmir. He had checked on how things panned out in the union territory. He also met Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistan relies heavily on these funds from the IMF, which have bailed the country out of economic crisis many times.

The decision of the IMF to send Pakistan a $1 billion fund was criticised and strongly reacted to by India. This was amid the rising tensions between the two countries after the Pahalgam attack.

The country of Pakistan had last received a $7 billion fund from the IMF in July last year. The organisation cited Islamabad’s urgent reforms for its economic recovery.

Pakistan has gotten into 25 economic arrangements, which are often referred to as “bailouts”. The IMF became a member of economic bailouts since 1950. The IMF since then agreed and has given Pakistan more than 20 loans. Pakistan needs these funds often for help during times of fiscal deficits, structural reforms, and balance of payments crises.
