New Delhi: BJP MP and former Delhi unit chief Manoj Tiwari took a swipe at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Reacting to Kejriwal’s demand to introduce images of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh he said that AAP had brought new tactics to save face in polls. Those who objected to Ram Mandir have come with a new mask. BJP’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra too slammed Kejriwal for taking a U-turn.

Bharatiya Janata Party is calling Kejriwal’s appeal – a political gimmick ahead of elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh.

Manoj Tiwari taking a dig at Kejriwal said, “Their (AAP) minister, Gujarat chief, and leaders have abused Hindu gods and said many things, and yet they are in the party. They’re bringing new tactics to save face in polls. Those who objected to Ram Mandir have come with a new mask.”

Sambit Patra too slammed Kejriwal and said that Kejriwal’s politics has taken a U-turn. He said, “He’s the same man who declined to ever go to Ayodhya’s Ram temple, claiming God won’t accept the prayers offered there… he’s the same man who laughed and called exodus of Kashmiri Pandits a lie, in Parliament.”

Earlier today, Arvind Kejriwal made an appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to include Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh on currency notes. He made this appeal in a bid to “get the economy back on track.”

Indirectly stating that nation’s economy is not in shape Kejriwal said, “We need a lot of efforts to get our economy back on track, but along with that we also need blessings of our gods and goddesses.”

He said, “On Indian currency notes…on one side there is the picture of Gandhi Ji…it should remain as it is…if we put a photo of Ganesha Ji and Lakshmi Ji on the other side, the entire country will get their blessings.”
