Three former convicts involved in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, all Sri Lankan nationals, repatriated to their homeland on Wednesday. Officials disclosed that Murugan, also known as Sriharan, Jayakumar, and Robert Payas departed via a Sri Lankan carrier. They were among the seven individuals acquitted by the Supreme Court in November 2022. After their release, they were housed in a specialized camp in Tiruchirappalli. They arrived there last night and left for Colombo today.
