PM Modi arrives in Bihar for attending Champaran Satyagraha celebrations

PM Narendra Modi today arrived in Bihar on Tuesday so as to attend the event of the concluding ceremony of the centenary of the Champaran Satyagraha in Motihari. The Prime Minister was received by Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, Satyapal Malik, the Governor and Ram Vilas Paswan, the Union Minister and some other BJP leaders.

As per the police officials, Modi arrived in Patna in an aircraft of the Indian Air Force and will reach Motihari by helicopter.

The Prime Minister will be addressing 20,000 ‘Swachhagrahis’ (cleanliness ambassadors) and is also slated to lay the foundation stone for four sewerage projects.

As per an Indian Express report, state-run Mahanagar Telecom Nagam Limited has sought financial assistance worth around Rs 1000 crore from the Centre to meet its debt liabilities. In the financial year 2023-24. MTNL’s debts rose to ₹25,795 crore from ₹23,500 crore a year back. Reportedly, the government is considering handing over MTNL’s operations to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) instead of merging the two entities.
