AIMIM Will Contest 100 Seats In UP Elections 2022 Says Asaduddin Owaisi

Besides AIMIM and SBSP, the Bhagidari Sankalp Morcha includes eight other parties, such as Krishna Patel’s Apna Dal, Jan Adhikar Party and Chandrashekar Ravan’s Azad Samaj Party.

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday said that his party will contest 100 seats in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections in alliance with Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) patron Om Prakash Rajbhar and the ‘Bhagidari Sankalp Morcha’ floated by him.

“I want to put some things in front of you regarding the election: 1) We have decided that we will field our candidates on 100 seats, the party has started the process of selecting the candidates and we have also released the candidate application form. 2) We are with Om Prakash Rajbhar’s Bhagidari Sankalp Morcha. 3) We have not had any talk with any other party regarding elections or alliance,” he wrote on Twitter.

Besides AIMIM and SBSP, the Bhagidari Sankalp Morcha includes eight other parties, such as Krishna Patel’s Apna Dal, Jan Adhikar Party and Chandrashekar Ravan’s Azad Samaj Party.

The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) won 5 out of the 20 seats it contested in the Bihar elections held last year and drew a blank in last month’s West Bengal elections.

With this announcement, Owaisi also put to rest speculations of an alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) after party president Mayawati also made it very clear.

“The party wants to clarify that barring Punjab, the BSP will be contesting the Assembly elections to be held in UP and Uttarakhand alone, and will not be entering into any alliance with anyone,” Mayawati said.
