New Delhi: After a masked mob brutally attacked students and teachers of Jawaharlal Nehru University, students across the country took to the streets to protest against the horrific incident. On Monday Home Minister Amit Shah alleged that Arvind Kejriwal trying to protect anti-nationalist.
In Mumbai, students from across educational organizations gathered at the Gateway of India and raised slogans and some against the ABVP that was allegedly behind the attack and demanded that the Central government should act against the attackers who also damaged JNU property.
The protest is happening in several parts of the country. Students from the Aligarh Muslim University took out a candlelight march, while students in Hyderabad held a demonstration. Kolkata’s Jadavpur University and Pune’s Film and Television Institute of India also joined in the agitation.
Speaking on the JNU violence, Home Minister Amit Shah said, “Delhi government led by Arvind Kejriwal wants to save tukde tukde gang. Students who raised anti-India slogans should be put behind the bars or not? But Kejriwal is not giving sanction to Police to prosecute them.”
