Solapur (Maharashtra) | Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday hit out at the Opposition parties, ahead of assembly elections in October.
Amit Shah, the BJP president, was in south Maharashtra’s Solapur, addressing the ”Mahajanadesh Yatra” launched on August 1 by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
“If the BJP opens its door completely, except for Sharad Pawar and Prithviraj Chavan, there will be no one left in their parties,” said Amit Shah.
He said that adding that this situation has come about because “these parties only cared about some families”.
Amit Shah also questioned Sharad Pawar’s “contribution” in providing financial aid to farmers in Maharashtra when the latter was a minister in the erstwhile UPA government at the Centre.
“Sharad Pawar should call a press conference and give the details of how much financial help he had given so far to Maharashtra”, he said.
Among those who joined the BJP in Shah’s presence are NCP leader from Osmanabad, Ranajagjit Sinh; former NCP MP from Kolhapur, Dhananjay Mahadik; and Congress MLA from Man-Khatav, Jaykumar Gore.
Amit Shah also slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, and said, “Today, Pakistan is using Rahul Gandhi’s remarks to target India.”
Both NCP and Congress have been suffering from important party members shifting to BJP.
