Andhra Parties to unite to move No Trust Motion against Modi government?

After YSR Congress and Jana Sena, BJP’s ally TDP also said that the ‘No-trust motion’ is the last resort left in front of the party.

Days after the YSR Congress, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu seconding the decision threatened to move ‘No trust motion’ against the Modi government at the Centre. The Telugu Desam Party which is in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party at the centre had recently made its tussle with the saffron party public. TDP MPs also protested outside the parliament for Centre’s alleged ignorance towards the demands of Andhra Pradesh.

Chandrababu Naidu while speaking at a public event on Monday mooted that the ‘No trust motion’ is the last resort left in front of his government. He said, “No confidence motion should be last resort.” Talking about it, he further said that the motion can’t be put easily. “It needs at least 54 MPs. But we don’t have that number,” Naidu said.

Taking a dig at opposition YSR Congress and Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena, Naidu said, “Some are asking for resignations. If our MPs resign, who will fight for our state?” Slamming its ally and opposition he said that his party only wants justice for the people of Andhra Pradesh. Naidu asserted, “Center should do justice to our state. But both YSRCP, BJP are criticizing me.” Expressing his angst he said the ruling Congress at the time of separation did injustice to the state and now ruling BJP which made big promises during the election is also not fulfilling them.

However, achieving the numbers to move No trust motion is not an easy task. TDP currently has only 16 MPs in the parliament and to move the motion it first has to break the alliance and opt out of the NDA led government.

On the other hand, Pawan Kalyan has taken it upon himself to garner support in favour of No trust motion against the government. Kalyan said that he will go to Delhi and talk to all other opposition parties in the Lok Sabha.
