Another baby dies in JK Lon Hospital in Rajasthan, death toll goes up to 107

Kota| The death toll of children dying at JK Loan Hospital in Rajasthan reached 107 in 35 days. Another baby girl died on Saturday morning. Meanwhile, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also reached Kota to meet the families of the victims. During this, Jodhpur AIIMS team also reached the hospital. The team discussed the arrangements with the doctors and staff as well. Earlier on Friday morning, two girls had died.

In fact, the Rajasthan government had constituted an inquiry committee on the death of children. According to the committee report, hypothermia has been identified as the main cause of death of children. Apart from this, almost every kind of equipment and system of the hospital has been mentioned in the defects.

On Friday, Health Minister Raghu Sharma discussed the budget with hospital management. During the discussion, it was discovered that every account had money. NHM has Rs 1 crore in the account while RMRS account also has money. Rs 22.80 lakh fund was approved for the central oxygen line of PICU of newborns, out of which Rs 15 lakh was transferred by CMHO in April.

But, this money was not spent at all, only a utility certificate (UC) of Rs 8.50 lakh was sent. When the CMHO kept detailed details of the entire budget, the minister asked where the rest of the money was, where it was spent and no one could answer.

44 out of 71 hospital warmers dysfunctional

The temperature of the newborn should be 36.5 degrees. In the nursery, the temperature is maintained between 28 and 32 degrees through a warmer. For which there are 71 warmers in the hospital, of which 44 are not working. With the same machine malfunction, the temperature dropped in the nursery and the children became victims of hypothermia. Minister Sharma has directed to send three units of 90 beds of General Ward, 3 units of 36 wards of NICCU and 3 units of 30 wards of PICU in 7 days.
