BJP government exploiting people in Rajasthan: Sachin Pilot

Sachin Pilot

Rajasthan Congress President Sachin Pilot today accused the BJP government in the state of exploiting people. He said that the government is in its last days and its functioning has made it clear that the BJP would lose the Assembly elections.

Addressing ‘Mera Booth Mera Gaurav’ programme in Rajasthan’s Rajsamand district, Pilot accused Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje of misusing public funds for a rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi held recently in Jaipur.

It is surprising that in a state where farmers are committing suicide, the government spent crores of public money in the name of ‘Jan Samvad’. This (money) could have been fruitfully utilised in public welfare but now it has become clear that the government has no interest in public service, Pilot said.

He said Raje had made tall promises like providing employment to youths and of ensuring safety of women and Dalits during her ‘Suraj Sankalp Yatra’ ahead of the last Assembly elections, but she did not fulfil any.

The Congress leader said that the chief minister is preparing for her ‘Suraj Gaurav Yatra’ but wherever she will go, people will ask her about the promises she made during the last elections.

The chief minister did not meet the people and did not hear their grievances in the last four years and now people are not willing to meet her, he said.

Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra on Tuesday said that Kaali, for her, was a meat-eating, alcohol-accepting goddess.

Kolkata: Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra has unfollowed the official Twitter handle of the TMC after her party clarified its stance on the comments made by Ms. Moitra for her comments on Goddess Kaali.

She was responding to a question at the India Today Conclave East 2022 on the row over a poster depicting an actor dressed up as the Goddess smoking a cigarette.

However, Moitra still follows  TMC supremo and Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee.

Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra on Tuesday said that Kaali, for her, goddess Kali was a meat-eating, alcohol-accepting goddess.

“When you go to Sikkim, you will see that they offer whiskey to goddess Kaali. But if you go to Uttar Pradesh, and if you tell them that you offer whiskey to the goddess as ‘prasad’, they will call it blasphemy,”  Moitra added.

TMC put up their statement in the form of a tweet that said “The comments made by @MahuaMoitra at the #IndiaTodayConclaveEast2022 and her views expressed on Goddess Kali have been made in her personal capacity and are NOT ENDORSED BY THE PARTY in ANY MANNER OR FORM. All India Trinamool Congress strongly condemns such comments.”

The poster of the documentary film at the center of the row recently went viral on social media with several people saying that the poster was an insult to the Hindu goddess and hurt religious sentiments.

“The comments made by @MahuaMoitra at the #IndiaTodayConclaveEast2022 and her views expressed on Goddess Kali have been made in her personal capacity and are NOT ENDORSED BY THE PARTY in ANY MANNER OR FORM. All India Trinamool Congress strongly condemns such comments,” the tweet put out by the official handle of TMC read.

Social media users have responded furiously to the documentary poster for Leena Manimekalai’s film because of how Goddess Kali is depicted. A police complaint against the filmmaker offended religious sensitivities.

First Delhi and now UP police have filed a Fir against  Manimekalai.
