Bengaluru| Amidst the Karnataka political crisis, it seems that the efforts of Congress have been fruitful. Reportedly, one rebel MLA MTB Nagaraj is reconsidering his resignation. The development comes a day after Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy sought trust vote in the house. He also asked the speaker to fix the date as soon as possible.
Talking about his decision outside Vidhan Soudha, MTB Nagaraj credited DK Shivakumar for his change of mind. Nagaraj said, “The situation was such that we submitted our resignations but now DK Shivakumar and others came and requested us to withdraw resignations.” “I will speak to K Sudhakar Rao& then see what is to be done, after all, I have spent decades in Congress,” he added.

Meanwhile, the man of the moment DK Shivakumar expressed happiness over Nagaraj’s decision. He said, “I am happy that MTB Nagaraj has assured us that he will stay with us.” He further said that Congress is like a family and there are ups and downs in every family. ” We should live together and die together because we have worked for 40 years for the party, there are ups and downs in every family. We should forget everything and move forward,” Shivakumar said.

Shivakumar’s Dharna outside Mumbai Hotel:
This week, former Karnataka Water Resource Minister DK Shivakumar hit the national headlines. As the Congress-JDS coalition govt in Karnataka was grappling with a crisis, Shivakumar reached the Powai hotel where the rebel MLAs were camped. However, heavy security was deployed by the state police department before his visit. He was not allowed to enter the hotel as well. However, he staged a sit-in protest outside the hotel. Later, he was detained and forcibly sent to Bengaluru.
“We will prove the majority”:
The Budget session of the Karnataka Assembly began on Friday amidst a week of high political drama. The Congress-JDS coalition seemed in a vulnerable spot with almost 18 MLAs resigning. However, Chief Minister Kumaraswamy as well as Congress leader Siddaramaiah expressed confidence that the MLAs will support them and the coalition will prove the majority in the house.

Well, as Chief Minister declared he would seek trust vote, all the parties began to huddle their flock of MLAs together and immediately arranged for the MLAs to move to different resorts. Reportedly, The Congress has decided to move its lawmakers to Clarks Exotica Conventions Resorts in Bengaluru. JDS lawmakers are already staying at two resorts. The BJP has picked three resorts as there isn’t enough room in one.
