Governor Vs Gehlot: Kalraj Mishra Returns Renewed Proposal By Gehlot To Convene Assembly

In the renewed proposal Gehlot had sought assembly session. However, the Governor has asked for some more details from the government.

Jaipur| There seems no end to the political crisis in Rajasthan. The battle within the Congress Party has reached the courts and Raj Bhavan. After the High Court’s decision, the Supreme Court will now hear the matter of notice sent to the MLAs of the Sachin Pilot camp by Speaker CP Joshi.

Meanwhile, news agency ANI has quoted sources as saying that the governor has returned the files sent to him by Rajasthan Cabinet seeking assembly session. This was the renewed proposal sent by Ashok Gehlot. Upon the earlier proposal, the Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra had raised six questions. He also cited the Coronavirus situation in the state.

In the renewed proposal Gehlot had mentioned that the assembly will be convened with focus on Coronavirus status. However, Raj Bhavan has asked for some more details from the government.

The Congress on Sunday accused the Rajasthan Governor of resorting to the “worst kind of obstruction of democracy” by raising “superficial and motivated” queries on Ashok Gehlot government’s demand for convening a session of the state assembly. Gehlot, however, said the governor is an amiable, and tactful person who has great dignity for his office.

It also staged a sit-in protest outside the Governor’s residence on Saturday.
