“It was like khoda pahaad, nikli chuhiya, woh bhi mari hui… (like digging up a mountain to find a mouse, that too a dead one),” ML Khattar said.
New Delhi| On Sunday ahead of Haryana Assembly poll election CM Manohar Lal Khattar commented on Congress President Sonia Gandhi during an election rally. The Congress has called the remark uncalled for and sought an immediate apology from him. It said the remark showed BJP’s ‘anti-women character’.
Khattar’s rally was scheduled in Sonipat where he made a remark on Sonia Gandhi. Khattar said that after facing a defeat in Lok Sabha elections, Congress President Rahul Gandhi resigned and said that the new Congress chief would not be from the Gandhi family. “We welcomed his decision. It is good to end dynasty politics,” Khattar said. However, searching for a President across the country, the party made Sonia Gandhi the Congress chief. “It was like khoda pahaad, nikli chuhiya, woh bhi mari hui… (like digging up a mountain to find a mouse, that too a dead one),” he said.
The comments did not go down well with the Congress which immediately tweeted, “The comment made by the BJP’s Chief Minister is not only cheap and objectionable, it also shows the anti-women character of the BJP. We condemn Chief Minister ML Khattar’s remark and demand an immediate apology from him.”
Rahul Gandhi resigned as an party President after Congress lost 2019 Lok Sabha Election. He took responsibility of the Congress’ defeat and said ‘Accountability’ should be maintained. After a long search after 3-months party declare Sonia Gandhi Party President again.
