Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi To Visit US On 8th Sept, Interact With Indian Diaspora

Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi will be visiting the United States from September 8 to 10. Indian Overseas Congress chief Sam Pitroda said Mr. Gandhi will hold several interactions in Washington DC and Dallas, including at the University of Texas. During his visit, the Congress MP will meet academicians, journalists, representatives of think tanks, and members from the Indian diaspora. This will be his foreign visit since becoming the LoP in Lok Sabha.

The Maha Vikas Aghadi today began its jode maaro (hit with footwear) march against the Eknath Shinde-led government in Mumbai amid heavy security. INDIA blocโ€™s Uddhav Thackeray, Sharad Pawar, Nana Patole are taking part in the march from Hutatma Chowk to Gateway of India. The protest is over the collapse of a 35-ft statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Sindhudurg inaugurated by PM Modi eight months back. Meanwhile, the BJP is holding a counter-protest in Dadar led by city party chief Ashish Shelar.
