Election 2019

Narendra Modi the boxer was supposed to fight unemployment, but instead punched Advani: Rahul Gandhi

Bhiwani(Haryana) | As the election phases almost end, the rallies are now taking a creative turn. Congress chief Rahul Gandhi today at a rally in Haryana said, “Narendra Modi the boxer was supposed to fight unemployment, but instead punched Advani”.

Comparing PM Modi to a boxer, he said, “In the last general election, people placed a 56-inched boxer in the ring against the might of unemployment and corruption, thinking ‘boxer’ Modi will fight them. But this boxer started hitting the people instead of with policies like demonetisation and GST. Then he punched the farmers.”

Sharpening his attack, “As if this was not enough, Narendra Modi the boxer insulted his guru, LK Advani and punched him out as well”, he said, in a veiled reference to the allegations on BJP “ignoring” the senior leaders like LK Advani, after it was announced that they would not be contesting.

Rahul Gandhi is contesting the Lok Sabha polls from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh and Wayanad in Kerala.

The results of the counting will be announced on May 23.
