New Delhi| Today is the 71st day of the ongoing farmers protest against agricultural laws. Meanwhile, the agitation on Ghazipur border has increased again today. Fifteen leaders of 10 opposition parties, including Shiromani Akali Dal MP and former Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal, reached Ghazipur today to meet the farmers but were stopped by police.
NCP MP Supriya Sule, who is part of the delegation of Opposition MPs, said that the central government should hold discussion with the farmers and end the months-long deadlock. “We all support farmers, we request the government to hold talks with farmers and justice is done to them,” the NCP MP said.

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal said the Opposition MPs today visited the protest site as they wanted to get a first-hand account of the condition of the farmers at the protest site. “We are here so that we can discuss this issue (farmers’ protest) in Parliament. Speaker is not letting us raise the issue. Now all the parties will give details of what is happening here,” she said.
