People with sedition charge should be stopped from going to parliament: Sanjay Raut on EC notice

Mumbai | Shiv Sena leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut today responding to the Election Commission notice against him over remarks on CPI leader Kanhaiya Kumar said that people with sedition charge should be stopped from entering Parliament.

Speaking to News Agency ANI, Raut said,” I’ve got a notice from EC. Our stand is clear, those who have sedition charges against them should be stopped from going to the parliament at any cost.” He further questioned that hasn’t Hardik Patel been stopped?”

The Election Commission had sent a notice to Sanjay Raut for alleged violation of model code of conduct over his comment on CPI candidate Kanhaiya Kumar. Raut in Shiv Sena’s editorial mouthpiece wrote that the former JNU student union’s president should be defeated even if BJP has to ‘temper with EVMs’. The Shiv Sena MP further wrote that Kanhaiya Kumar is like a ‘bottle of poison’ and must not reach parliament.
