“Perpetrators of Rape should be lynched in Public”: Jaya Bachchan voices anger in Rajya Sabha

Jaya Bachchan said that people want a clear answer from the government. She said that the perpetrators of rape should be lynched among the public.

 

New Delhi| The echoes of the rape and murder case of Veterinary Doctor in Telangana were heard in the Rajya Sabha today. The house witnessed a debate around the safety of women and the government’s role. Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan said, “I think this is the time when people want a clear answer from the government. The government should tell what has happened in the Nirbhaya and Kathua rape cases so far?”

She said that the perpetrators of rape should be lynched among the public. At the same time, in the Lok Sabha, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that the whole country has been embarrassed by this incident. It has hurt everyone and criminals should get severe punishment.

Every section will have to stand together: Ghulam Nabi Azad

Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said that the state government should deal with the culprits strictly. He said that mere legislation will not solve the problem. “In this case, every section of society will have to stand up,” he said. On behalf of the BJP, Prabhat Jha and Aam Aadmi Party’s Sanjay Singh had demanded a discussion on the rising crime against women in the Rajya Sabha. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) proposed to discuss the oppression of leaders and Dalits in Andhra Pradesh. The CPI, under Rule 267, sought an adjournment of the proceedings on the rise in prices of onions and pulses.

Discussion on Telangana horror in Lok Sabha also

In the Lok Sabha, Trinamool Congress, ShivSena and Congress have given notice of adjournment motion to discuss the Telangana rape case. It has been told that Congress will demonstrate in the House on this issue.
