Rajdeep Sardesai Suggests Rahul-Modi Debate, Here Is What Assam CM Replied

Replying on his PC senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai suggested a debate between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “A debate maybe between Mr Gandhi and Mr Modi? Live across all news media?”.

New Delhi: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, on Friday, in his press conference, slammed the Modi goverment over price rise, revised GST and usage of federal agencies, such as the Enforcement Directorate, as a tool to silence the opposition voices. Mr. Gandhi also said ‘India under dictatorship, democracy is dead.

Replying on his PC senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai suggested a debate between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “A debate maybe between Mr Gandhi and Mr Modi? Live across all news media?”.

Responding to the tweet Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said “Rajdeep – between Hon’ble PM and @RahulGandhi? Hope you are in sense. Rahul Gandhi and any Zilla Parishad Member of@BJP4India– However, I will not object for the proposed one sided affair.”

Expressing his eagerness, the India Today consulting editor said, “Himanta da. @himantabiswa,Will be grateful then if you organise this ‘one sided’ debate: I am happy to anchor it.”

Meanwhile, Several Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi were arrested by the Delhi police on Friday, August 5 as they marched to Rashtrapati Bhavan for the massive protest against unemployment, inflation, and rising prices that they organized.

China announced sanctions against US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for visiting Taiwan and intruding into its sovereignty.

Mumbai: Foreign Ministry of China on Friday announced sanctions against US House of Representatives  Speaker Nancy Pelosi after she visited Taiwan this week sparked anger and displays of military force from Beijing.
The ministry said Pelosi had “seriously interfered in China’s internal affairs and seriously undermined China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity” with her visit, and that Beijing would “impose sanctions on Pelosi and her immediate family,” without giving further details.

China has announced sanctions against a number of US officials in recent years for violating their core interests and speaking out on human rights issues in Hong Kong and the northern region that is western  Xinjiang, often without specifying punitive measures.

In March this year, Beijing said that it was imposing visa restrictions on an undisclosed list of US officials who are suspected of having “made up lies with China on human rights issues”.

The former US secretary of state Mike Pompeo, as well as Peter Navarro who is a trade adviser to former president Donald Trump were also among those hit by earlier waves of sanctions and are forbidden from entering China and doing business with Chinese entities.
