Rakesh Tikaits Statement: “If demands are not accepted we would continue to protest”

New Delhi: Bhartiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait has given a big statement regarding the farmers movement. According to new agency ANI, Rakesh Takait said that the government announced then they ca bring proposal. But the MSP and the death of 700 farmers are also our issue. He also said that the government should take note on this issue as well. He said that if the government agrees before January 26, then we will leave. He said that we will tell about the election after the election code of conduct is imposed.

The Tractor Rally will go till the Parliament House

Earlier Takiat said that tractor rally which is going to be held on November 29 will end only when government repeals farm laws in parliament. Tikait also claimed that 60 tractors will be a part of rally and roads which are opened by government will be use to reach parliament. He also blamed that it was government who blocked the roads during protest not farmers. He also said we are ready to speak with government whenever calls us for meeting.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 19 November announced that the government has decided to repeal the three farm laws, which were at the centre of protests by farmers for the past year, and appealed them to return home.

In his address to the nation on the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, Prime Minister Modi insisted that the laws were in the benefit of farmers and then apologized to people of the country while adding that the government could not convince a section of farmers despite its clear heart and clean conscience.

“I have come to tell you that we have decided to repeal the three farm laws. In the upcoming Parliament session starting at the end of this month, we will complete the constitutional process to repeal the three farm laws,” PM Modi said.

Since November last year, thousands of farmers from Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan have been camping outside Delhi, demanding that the Centre cancel the laws.

It has affected campaigning in the poll-bound states, with angry protesters barring entry of leaders and disrupting meetings.
