London | India on Tuesday defeated Bangladesh and cemented its place in the Semi-Finals in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup. Among the intense moments during the game, the moment which brought smiles on the face of cricket fans is an 87-year-old fan cheering for the Indian team.
Charulata Patel, an 87-year-old fan was intensively celebrating every boundaries and wicket taken by the Indian team. Patel quickly became famous among the fans, commentators and even the cricketers.
Indian Team Captain Virat Kohli and Vice-captain Rohit Sharma met Patel after the match sought her blessings. Kohli also shared the moments on his twitter account and wrote,”Also would like to thank all our fans for all the love & support & especially Charulata Patel ji. She’s 87 and probably one of the most passionate & dedicated fans I’ve ever seen. Age is just a number, passion takes you leaps & bounds. With her blessings, on to the next one.”

Cricket’s highest governing body ICC also shared Patel video on their twitter handle celebrating the joy cricket with a caption,” How Amazing is this?!”

Meanwhile, India after defeating Bangladesh by 28 runs in a must-win game qualified to the knockout stage. Rohit Sharma was awarded the man of the match for his 104 of 92 balls, he also created a record-equalling fourth century in a single edition.
