“Uniform Civil Code Cannot Be Implemented All Over India”: DK Shivakumar

Karnataka DCM DK Shivakumar on Sunday rejected the nationwide implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). He stated that a country like India is diverse, making such a move impracticable.

“Our country is a country of unity in diversity. A uniform civil code cannot be implemented,” said DCM DK Shivakumar. Speaking to the media in Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu.

Further, he stated, “Every citizen has their own personal life. If it cannot be implemented in the entire country, how can it be implemented in one state?” Shivkumar added.
