Its the 13th day of Farmers’ Protest. Farmers from various parts of India especially from Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh have camped at Delhi borders and demanding the government to repeal the newly passed Farm Laws which they call the Death knell to India’s agriculture sector. After the five rounds of talks between the Farmers and the government failed, the Farmers’ organizations are Today, on 8th December staging a Bharat bandh. They had warned about the nationwide strike. However, they have said that the Bandh will remain peaceful and they do not intend to trouble the common man. They have also said that no one will be forced to participate in the bandh. If people are willingly stopping their activities, it is welcomed. We will talk about Bandh and what response it is getting but before that the biggest news at the moment is coming from Delhi. Where Aam Aadmi Party workers have alleged that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has been put under house arrest by the Delhi police. The very shocking claim by the AAP but the Delhi police have denied this. While Kejriwal is the CM of Delhi, the Police force comes under the Home Ministry i.e. under Home Minister Amit Shah. AAP was among the 18 opposition parties that supported Farmers’ Call for Bharat Bandh. AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj alleged that Kejriwal’s residence has been barricaded completely, with none allowed to enter or leave the premises. He also claimed that the MLAs, who had a meeting with CM yesterday, were beaten up by the cops when they went to meet him. “Workers were not allowed to meet him either. BJP leaders are being made to sit outside his residence,” he said.
