The Coronavirus cases and the death toll across the globe are continuously rising. With over 1 crore coronavirus cases and more than 6 lakh deaths due to COVID-19, the pandemic has engulfed our lives. Countries went into lockdown, Businesses suffered and People’s health was affected, hospitals overcrowded, so much has happened in the last 7 months since the Virus was first found in China’s Wuhan in December last year. the virus brought the world to its knees and countries are still struggling to get back up. But amidst all this gloom and doom, what came as a ray of hope was results from the Oxford vaccine trials.
A coronavirus vaccine developed by the University of Oxford in collaboration with Pharma giant AstraZeneca appears safe and triggers an immune response. According to a report published in the medical journal The Lancet on Monday, the vaccine is completely safe and effective. The trials involved 1,077 people and The findings are so promising that UK has already ordered 100 Million doses of it. moreover, the pharma company itself has kept a target of delivering 400 Million doses by the end of 2020.
