Farmers Protest: PM Modi Refers To Tractor Burning Incident In Speech, Says It Is Insult To Farmers

In protest against the new farm laws, youth Congress members set a tractor on fire at Delhi’s India Gate on Monday morning. A day after that, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that these parties are insulting the farmers. Targetting the opposition parties leading from the front in support of farmers, the Prime Minister said, “For years, they said that they will implement MSP (Minimum Support Price) but they never did. This was done by our government as per the recommendation of the Swaminathan Commission.” He also stressed that the opposition parties are protesting “just for the sake of it”.
