Hyderabad Floods: Rain Fury Hits Telangana, Yellow Alert Issued

Record heavy rains lashed Hyderabad under the influence of a deep depression in Bay of Bengal. Most parts of Telangana including the capital city Hyderabad were flooded and continue to remain under the deluge of water as Heavy rains poured over the region. Overflowing tanks and lakes resulted in water entering homes in low-lying areas. Vehicles were washed away and power supply has been snapped in several localities. roads were inundated, vehicles submerged, cars swept away due to strong currents, rivulets and other water bodies. In a viral video three cars could be seen floating in the flood whereas other video shows a man being swept in the flood while calling out for help. Considering the situation, the state government has declared a holiday for today and tomorrow. It has advised people to stay indoor until necessary. Nine people, including a two-month-old, have been killed in Hyderabad after a compound wall collapsed and fell on ten houses due to incessant rainfall. As of Now the teams of NDRF and SDRF are carrying out the rescue operation. Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has also requested that the army should be called in to aid the rescue operations.
