According to media reports, Praful Patel gave 2 floors to Iqbal Mirchi’s wife Hajira Memon in Ceejay house after Iqbal Mirchi’s death.
Mumbai| Days after allegations of having links with the infamous D company, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and former Union Minister Praful Patel. The ED has asked him to appear on October 18 and he will be questioned about the assets of CJ House. According to media reports, ED suspects Patel has close links with Iqbal Mirchi, a close aide of Dawood Ibrahim. Few days back ED had also initiated case case in connection with Maharashtra State Co-operative Bank scam involving senior NCP leaders like Ajit Pawar, Jayant Patil and Sharad Pawar himself. Patel is considered very close to Sharad Pawar.
After the ED’s notice, Praful Patel called the allegations against him mere “outrage”. He said, “There are talks about some leaked papers in the media, which have probably never come to my attention.” On the question of relations with Iqbal Mirchi, Patel said, “When the time comes, I will answer all the questions.
Praful Patel claims, property purchased from Maharaja of Gwalior
According to media reports, Praful Patel gave 2 floors to Iqbal Mirchi’s wife Hajira Memon in Ceejay house after Iqbal Mirchi’s death. Patel said that this property was bought by his family from the Maharaja of Gwalior in 1963. Due to the disputes between co-owners, the property was in the court from 1978-2005. He said that there has not been a single transaction of money between Hajira Memon and his family.

Dawood Ibrahim’s aide Iqbal Mirchi was killed in 2013. According to sources, the investigating agency found a contract between Iqbal Mirchi and Praful Patel in 2007 regarding the Ceejay House property. The document was signed by Praful Patel as a partner. The pictures of agreement that was signed to develop the property were leaked in the media.
