IndiGo Flight Makes Precautionary Landing In Karachi Due To Technical Defect, All Passengers Safe

The IndiGo airlines today said that one of its aircraft flying from Sharjah to Hyderabad was diverted to Pakistan after the pilot onboard reported a technical defect in the aircraft. The airline informed that the plane made a precautionary landing in Karachi and all the passengers are safe.

In a press release, the airline said: “IndiGo flight 6E-1406, operating from Sharjah to Hyderabad was diverted to Karachi. The pilot observed a technical defect. Necessary procedures were followed and as a precaution the aircraft was diverted to Karachi. An additional flight is being sent to Karachi to fly the passengers to Hyderabad.”

In span of two weeks, this is the second instance of an Indian airline’s plane making landing in Pakistan’s Karachi.

Earlier in the month, a Spicejet aircraft flying from Delhi to Dubai had malfunctioning fuel indicator light in the cockpit, owing to which the plane was diverted to Pakistan’s Karachi.

A replacement flight was letter sent to Karachi to escort all 138 Indian passengers stuck on the Pakistani airport. Pakistan authorities reportedly took several hours to allow the passengers to board the replacement flight and go to Dubai.
