Assam Plans To Table Polygamy Ban Bill In February

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that a bill to ban polygamy will be presented in the upcoming February session of the state assembly. The bill, crafted after extensive consultations, aims to address concerns like “Love Jihad.” Out of 149 suggestions received, 146 favoured the bill, indicating strong public support, while three organizations opposed it.
