Lucknow: BJP makes a history yet again after crossing the majority mark in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2022, as the trends suggested a huge victory for the Bhartiya Janta Party. After the win of BJP, UP CM Yogi Adtiyanath would be serving the state for second consecutive time.
Yogi Adityanath, the incumbent chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, stated in his victory address that the BJP’s “double engine” administration had provided a sense of security to the people during the last five years, and that the saffron party has fought for the development of the state. “Given the size of the state, everyone’s attention was drawn to UP. I am grateful to the people for allowing us to win by a large margin. The BJP has worked for the people of UP even in difficult times and under PM Modi’s leadership,” he said, adding that the party will keep all pledges and strive to reclaim the people’s trust.
Mr Yogi Adityanath thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, union home minister Amit Shah, defence minister Rajnath Singh and BJP national president JP Nadda, under whose leadership the saffron party got a mandate in four states. “Today BJP and alliances have won in UP and got full majority… I would like to thank the people of UP. For the first time, seven phases of the elections and counting have gone smoothly. I would like to thank the Election Commission as well. This victory is a win for PM Modi’s policies and people trust PM Modi and have granted another chance to serve better,” he said.
Workers at the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Lucknow office splashed saffron colour after the party’s huge victory in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. They danced to several Bhojpuri songs as well as the iconic Amitabh Bachchan song ‘Rang Barse Bheege Chunarwali’ from the movie ‘Silsila.’ As soon as the preliminary results began to come in early on Thursday morning, a crowd gathered outside the party office. Workers sang slogans in support of Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They were also seen waving the BJP’s Lotus flag and the national flag.
