New Delhi : Union Minister Amit Shah will be speaking on the issue of Nagaland Firing operation in parliament today. Shah will speak at the Lok Sabha at 3pm and a hour later in Rajya Sabha. The opposition, meanwhile, has served multiple adjournment notices this morning, demanding detailed discussions.
While Congress MP Manickam Tagore moved an adjournment motion in Lok Sabha to discuss the incident, Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha gave suspension of business notice “to discuss the matters related to the killing of innocent civilians in Nagaland.”
Violent clashes broke out between security forces and locals in Nagaland’s Mon district on Sunday. According to the report, 6 youths were killed in the firing by the security forces. It is being told that this firing was done in the apprehension of youths being associated with the militant organization NSCN.
After the killings of the civilians, Union Home Minister Amit Shah through twitter expressed his anguish and expressed his condolences, “Saddened by the unfortunate incident at Oating in Nagaland. I express my deepest condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives. The state government will conduct a high-level SIT investigation so that the bereaved families can get justice.” his tweet read.

But the government is yet to provide a statement on the botched anti-insurgency operation in which security forces gunned down civilians. After the reports of killings emerged on Sunday morning, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said the central government must give a “real reply” over the “heart wrenching” incident.
