San Francisco: Elon Musk visited Twitter INC’s Headquarters with a kitchen sink in hand on Wednesday. His visit comes ahead of a court-ordered deadline to close his $44 billion deal for the social media platform.

Posting a video of him entering the headquarters he said, “Entering Twitter HQ – Let that sink in!”

In a thread of Tweets, he added, “Meeting a lot of cool people at Twitter today!”

He also Tweeted, “A beautiful thing about Twitter is how it empowers citizen journalism – people are able to disseminate news without an establishment bias.”

Before reaching there he updated his profile’s bio to “Chief Twit.”

Twitter had confirmed that Musk is all set to visit the San Francisco office, but didn’t comment further.

Musk had offered to buy the social media platform in March but backed out in July. After Twitter sued Elon Musk he offered to buy the social media giant at the same price. The court hearing the matter ordered Musk to close the deal by October 27.

Meanwhile, The Wall Street Journal reported that banks have started to send $13 billion in cash. They are backing Musk’s takeover. This is a clear sign that deal is still on track and will close by the end of this week. After final closing conditions are met, funds will be made available for musk to execute the transaction by Friday.

When Reuters contacted Bank of America and Barclays, they declined to comment.

In the six months of a dramatic back-and-forth since Musk announced his $54.20 per share bid. Initially, Twitter resisted the deal by adopting a poison pill and later sued him after he announced plans to abandon the offer on concerns about spam accounts on the platform.

Earlier this month, Musk proposed to proceed with his original $44 billion bid. He called for an end to the lawsuit by Twitter.

It’s still unknown what prompted Musk to purchase the social media platform once more, although some reports think that the Tesla CEO does not want information about the initial processes made public. After Twitter filed discussions between Musk and its executives, including current CEO Parag Agrawal and former CEO Jack Dorsey, in court, more inside information came to light online. The private communications made it clear that Musk was hesitant to join the Twitter board at first. Agrawal tweeted a confirmation of it as well.

After he invested in the social media platform, and before he announced his bid to buy it, Musk and Parag had a conversation over text that hinted at a rift. Musk, as indicated by his texts, doesn’t believe that Parag is the kind of person who can manage Twitter.
