Bihar IG Writes To BMC, Seeks Release of ‘Quarantined’ Officer

Patna’s IG Sanjay Singh has written a letter to BMC Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal and appealed to release SP Tiwari.

 

Patna| A day after Patna SP Vinay Tiwari was put into quarantine by BMC, the IG of the state has written to the Authority seeking his release. Tiwari landed in Mumbai on Sunday to join the probe into Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case.

Patna IG Sanjay Singh said that our police are searching for the identified people in Mumbai, but have not been able to trace them yet. Meanwhile, Siddharth Pithani- roommate of Sushant sent an e-mail to the Mumbai police two days ago, stating that Sushant’s family is pressurising him to make a statement against Rhea Chakraborty.

Bihar Police alleged that all this is happening at the behest of Mumbai Police so that the Patna Police cannot complete their investigation. Patna’s IG Sanjay Singh has written a letter to BMC Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal and appealed to release SP Tiwari. On the other hand, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that it is not right to quarantine a police officer. The DGP has given full information on behalf of our government. Bihar’s DGP himself will also speak to the DGP there.

Hearing of Sushant case in Bombay High Court today

A petition seeking a CBI inquiry into Sushant’s death will be heard in the Bombay High Court today. The bench headed by Chief Justice Dipankar Dutta will hear the matter. Sushant died by suicide in his flat in Bandra on 14 June. Since then, the Mumbai Police has recorded statements of 56 people. Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut first sought to transfer the case to CBI. However, Supreme Court rejected the similiar petition.
