According to sources, talks were reportedly held at various levels after Priyanka Gandhi and Sachin Pilot met two weeks back “at a common place in NCR (National Capital Region)”.
Rebel Congress leader Sachin Pilot, in a new move towards untangling the crisis that has pushed the Rajasthan Congress government led by Ashok Gehlot to the brink, met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi a short while ago. Congress is on the verge of a “breakthrough” after weeks of standoff since Sachin Pilot launched his revolt against Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in early July, party sources have said.
It’s still unclear whether Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were present for the meeting. Rahul and Priyanka were seen leaving for the meeting together, according to NDTV.
According to sources, talks were reportedly held at various levels after Priyanka Gandhi and Sachin Pilot met two weeks back “at a common place in NCR (National Capital Region)”.
However, team pilot has denied any reports of “breakthrough” insisting that their core issue remains Ashok Gehlot, who they say must be removed as Chief Minister.
Earlier, governor of Rajasthan Kalraj Mishra sent back a proposal passed by Gehlot cabinet to convene assembly session by July 31. It also answered the queries raised by the governor while returning the second proposal. But it did not take into account the suggestion of 21-day notice to MLAs before a session, by Governor.
After the Governor returned the third proposal, Gehlot cabinet met for the fourth time and passed a proposal including the suggestion. The governor then approved the request for convening assembly session on August 14.
