Mumbai| Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray today announced that the state government has taken a major decision to close the four cities including Mumbai, Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad and Nagpur from midnight March 20. The Chief Minister has taken an important decision today (March 7) from a virtual press conference to prevent Corona contamination.
CM Uddhav Thackeray has ordered the closure of shops other than essential commodities like cereals, milk and medicals during this shutdown. Local trains and bus services will not shut down as of now. The Chief Minister has given a clear indication that closing these services will disrupt the essential services.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister said that the people of Mumbai are giving a good response to the call to reduce the crowd.
In the state, the number of coronavirus patients has increased to 52. However, there are reports of some patients who have been tested negative for Coronavirus. 3 patients will be discharged, but these five will be monitored for the next 3 days, the Chief Minister said.
