Raigad: 10 year Old Building In Mahad Collapses Like Pack of Cards, Many Feared Trapped

This five-storey building in Raigad was almost 10 years old. There were 45 to 47 flats in it. The local authorities are trying to find out how many people were present in each flat.

 

Raigad: Two people have died in the collapse of a multi-storey residential building in Mahad city of Raigad district of Maharashtra on Monday evening, while 15 are said to be injured. According to the information received, 60 people have been rescued so far in the accident. However, about 18-19 people are feared trapped under the debris.

According to news agency ANI, three teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) left for the spot last evening. The NDRF official said, ‘A 5-storey building collapsed in Kajalpura area of ​​Mahad tehsil of Raigad district in Maharashtra at 6:30 pm today. Three teams of NDRF have been sent to the scene. All three teams have gone with all the necessary equipment.”

Home Minister Amit Shah has expressed grief over this incident and he has assured the NDRF DG to provide all necessary assistance.

This five-storey building was almost 10 years old. There were 45 to 47 flats in it. It is being said that the first three floors of the upper part started falling first, after which the entire building collapsed. Right now the local authorities are also trying to find out how many people were present in each flat. A list is being made for this. The building is not old enough, the material used in the construction of the building will be examined and it will be seen what was the reason for the collapse of the building.

Last month, a multi-storey building collapsed due to heavy rains in Mumbai, in which 9 people died and many others were injured.
