Singhu Border Murder: “Deceased man was sent by someone and was given 30,000 rupees,” says Jagjit Singh

New Delhi : A 35-year-old man was brutally murdered at the Singhu border outside Delhi. His body was found hanging from a barricade near the main stage of protesting farmers on Friday morning, with a chopped-off hand. Samyukt Kisan Morcha leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal addresses the media during a press conference at Singhu border in New Delhi, on Friday. during the press conference he said that the deceased had stated that he was sent by someone and paid 30,000 rupees.

Addressing a press conference at the Singhu border on Friday, SKM senior leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal said, “When we reached the spot some people were saying that the deceased man, before dying, admitted he was sent by someone and given Rs 30,000. I don’t have the video proof of it. The government should probe this matter thoroughly.”

Terming the incident a ‘conspiracy’, SKM alleged that an attempt is being made to give communal colour to the Morcha.

“Attempt is being made to give Morcha a religious colour… seemingly a conspiracy, it should be probed,” stated Dallewal.

The umbrella body of farmers’ unions further condemned the killing, and stated that they are against ‘sacrilege of any religious text and symbol’.

He said, “Samyukt Kisan Morcha condemns the gruesome killing of Lakhbir Singh (at Kundli this morning). We want to make it clear that both the parties to this incident — the Nihang group and the deceased — have no relation with SKM. The Morcha is against sacrilege of any religious text, symbol.”

The incident has already caused a huge outrage among the farmers who were initially not allowing the police to visit. However, officials of the Kundli police station were later allowed to take the body to the nearby civil hospital.

“At about 5 am today [Friday], a body was found hanging with hands, legs chopped at the spot where farmers’ protest is underway [Kundli, Sonipat],” said DSP Hansraj as quoted by news agency ANI.

No place for violence, govt’s responsibility to investigate: Cong on Haryana incident

The body of the man with one of his hands chopped off was found tied to a metal barricade near at Kundli in Haryana’s Sonipat district on Friday, police said.
