Unlock 5 Begins From Today: Multiplexes, Entertainment Parks To Open Up, State Govts To Decide On Opening of Schools

The government has allowed the opening of multiplexes and cinema halls with physical distancing at staggered seating arrangement under Unlock-5.

Mumbai| Almost six months after the lockdown was imposed, unlock-5 will begin from today. With the new set of guidelines, more activities and establishments have been exempted from restrictions. Now, outside the containment zone, cinema hall, multiplex, entertainment park, swimming pool can be opened up. The guideline for Unlock-5 was released on 30 September.

1. Multiplex

The government has allowed the opening of multiplexes and cinema halls with physical distancing at staggered seating arrangement. Multiplexes are going to open up in Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Bengal after 7 months. At the same time, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and North Eastern states have decided not to open multiplexes yet.

Multiplexes may open in Gujarat from 17 October. The Goa government has given permission to open cinema halls, but theater owners have said that they will not do so as there are no new films.

2. Entertainment Park

Entertainment Parks will also be opened from today under Unlock-5. The guideline states that cleaning and sanitization will be necessary before the park is opened and after it is closed. Used masks and face covers should have a separate dustbin. Swimming pools in these parks will remain closed for now.

In water park there must be continuous cleaning and sanitization of water. Sufficient number of security personnel should be deployed outside and inside the parks to maintain the line and social distancing. It is very important to take care of crowd management. The ticket windows should be in sufficient numbers and online booking should be increased.

3. swimming pool

Swimming pools will also be opened from today. The SOP, issued for this says up to 20 swimmers can train at a time in a swimming pool equal to the size of the pool used in the Olympics. However, swimmers will have to sign a declaration for this. Residential swimmers are required to submit a negative report of Covid-19.

4. School

The Center has told the states that they will be able to take a decision about opening schools for children of different classes after 15 October. For this, they will fix the date and make their own SOP. Most of the states including Delhi and Maharashtra have decided to keep the schools closed. On the other hand, schools are going to open in Punjab for children from 9th to 12th from today. Schools will be opened in Uttar Pradesh from 19 October.
