Aid Denied to 96,811 Farmers Due To Aadhaar-Unlinked Bank Accounts

Nearly 96,811 farmers in Maharashtra could not avail benefits from the ‘Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana’ as their bank accounts and Aadhaar numbers were not linked, revealed Agriculture Minister Dhananjay Munde. The state initiative, designed to offer financial aid to farmers beyond the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, encountered challenges due to non-linked Aadhaar numbers and bank accounts as of October 26, 2023.
