Over 24,000 Displaced In Manipur To Vote From Camps During LS Polls

Amid eleven months of conflict, with over 50,000 displaced and pockets of anti-election sentiment, Manipur’s Election Commission gears up for challenging Lok Sabha elections. More than 24,500 displaced persons are eligible to vote, with special arrangements made for voting from relief camps. 2,955 polling stations will be set up, with about 50 per cent identified as sensitive. Additionally, 94 special polling stations will facilitate voting by internally displaced persons (IDPs).
