In a previous instance, Mr. Bidhuri had not attended the committee, explaining his inability to do so. The controversial remarks were made by Mr. Bidhuri against Mr. Ali during a Special session of Parliament in September, specifically during discussions about the success of the Chandrayan-III mission.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla had referred the complaints from MPs regarding Bidhuriโ€™s use of objectionable language against Ali to the Privileges Committee in September.

After A 2 Month Hiatus, India Has Recommenced E-Visa Services For Canadian Citizens.

The Indian government has consistently and categorically refuted โ€œbaselessโ€ and โ€œmotivatedโ€ accusations linking it to the demise of Mr. Nijjar. It has urged Ottawa to provide supporting evidence for its assertions.

According to sources, electronic visa services for Canadian citizens have been reinstated by India after a pause of nearly two months. The suspension of visa services, which began on September 21, was a result of the ongoing diplomatic dispute over Canadaโ€™s allegations of the involvement of โ€œagents of the Indian governmentโ€ in the June killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Canadian citizen, in India.

This resumption implies the reinstatement of all visa services, including tourist visas. Last month, services for four categories, including business and medical visas, had already resumed.

In September, India had temporarily halted the issuance of visas to Canadian citizens, stating that it would remain in effect until further notice.
