Congress can defeat BJP on all 200 seats in Rajasthan: Sachin Pilot

Jaipur | Rajasthan Congress President Sachin Pilot on Saturday said that the Congress party is capable defeating the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) on all the 200 assembly seats of Rajasthan in the upcoming election.

Speaking on the possibility of an alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in Rajasthan, Sachin Pilot clarified that there were no talks of alliance with any specific party, however, in our meeting with Rahul Ji we gave him a perspective of circumstances under which polls will take place.

The State of Rajasthan along with Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh will hold assembly elections at the end of the year. Ahead of the General Election in 2019, the elections in these 3 states can be crucial for both Congress and BJP.

New Delhi | President Ramnath Kovind on Saturday nominated RSS ideologue and columnist Rakesh Sinha to Rajya Sabha.

President Kovind also nominated former BJP Leader Ram Shakal, Sculptor Raghunath Mohapatra, and Classical Dancer Sonal Mansingh to Rajya Sabha.

Under article 80 of the Constitution, the President of India can nominate 12 people among persons who have special knowledge or practical experience in respect of such matters as literature, science, art and social service.
