Jayanagar bypoll: JDS backs out, supports Congress’ Soumya Reddy

Bengaluru: Janta Dal-Secular on Tuesday issued a Press release announcing that JD(S) will extend its support to the Congress candidate Soumya Reddy.

The Karnataka based party has also stated that its party workers and candidate would extend their support for Congress candidate.

The Assembly election in Jayanagar was postponed after the death of BJP candidate BN Vijaya Kumar.

Earlier BJP emerged as the single largest party in the Karnataka assembly election winning 104 seats but failed to win the crucial floor test.BS Yeddyurappa has to resign two days after taking oath as the Chief Minister of Karnataka. Later the post-poll alliance of Congress-JDS with the support of 118 MLAs formed the government with HD Kumaraswamy as the Chief Minister and G Parameshwara as the Deputy Chief Minister.
