Opposition parties said on Tuesday Bharatiya Janata Party’s decision to pull out of the alliance with Mehbooba Mufti’s PDP government in Jammu and Kashmir was an “opportunistic” move ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
“And so it has come to pass……..” This was former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah’s reaction to BJP general secretary Ram Madhav’s announcement that the party was ending its three-year alliance with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

BJP leader Ram Madhav announced at a press conference in Delhi that the party was pulling out of the Jammu and Kashmir coalition government because the alliance had become “untenable”.
The National Conference leader posted this cryptic remark on Twitter, a hint that he had expected this unnatural alliance of two parties with polarising ideologies to break eventually.
